BREATHTAKING CLIFFS

After Terra d’Otranto, the Adriatic Coast is mainly rocky, and reaches the height of its splendour in the region of Capo di Leuca. Steep slopes leading down to the sea offer access to seabeds of breathtaking beauty, filled with fish and crustaceans. You’ll find well-equipped bathing establishments located near residential areas, as well as several beaches that are free-of-charge. The natural beauties of the Costa di Levante include numerous natural limestone caves extending for several kilometers along the Costa di Ponente. A great way to see them is to take a boat trip from Leuca.

Leuca: Highlights include a beautiful promenade, a tourist port with boat hire, and guided tours to the Caves.

Novaglie: a beautiful bay with a small harbour carved out in the rocks. Easy access to the sea and a kiosk on the rocks.

La Guardiola and the Canale del Rio (The Watch Tower and the Rio Canal): access to the sea via a stairway and a pretty sea view kiosk.

Fùnnu Vojere: numerous access routes to the sea and beautiful deep seabeds

The swimming pools of Marina Serra : dug out in the rocks

The Tricase Marina:  a small, lively, well-equipped tourist port. A local meeting place for children.

The Marinas of Andrano and Castro

Santa Cesarea: Thermal baths and the Grotto of  Zinzulusa

Porto Miggiano and Porto Badisco: small, beautiful bays with easy access to the sea

TROPICAL SANDY BEACHES

The Ionian Coast is characterized by sandy beaches, covered with a fine pinkish sand, highlighting the transparency of the water.

In the areas nearest to Capo di Leuca, you’ll find stretches of rocky coastline and the beautiful Grottoes of Ponente.

Grotte dalla Fenice and Il Marchiello: caves, rocks and flat cliffs

Felloniche: Bagni Marinelli (Marinelli Beach Club) on the rocks and public beaches

Marina di San Gregorio: easy, protected access to the sea

Torre Vado: sandy beaches and numerous well-organized beach clubs (Lido Venere and il Bambù)

Le Pesculuse: sandy dunes and crystalline waters. Free public beaches with well-equipped beach clubs (Cinque Vele, le Maldive and Chiosco Dory)
